Beginning My Day

Every morning I check out NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day, and I recommend that you do so also.

No, it doesn't really matter that you have little knowledge of astronomy and less interest in science. A good many of these photos are simply beautiful, such as this one of Jupiter and Europa, one of its moons. Or this one, showing a slightly different Jupiter, with Ganymede, another of its moons.

Then again, you might like to have a closer look than you have ever had before at the planet Saturn. Not to be outdone, Saturn also comes with photos with two moons of its own.

Had we but world enough or time, I would show you dozens and dozens of photos of planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies. For the moment, I will simply recommend tuning into this brief recording of the sounds of space, in the vicinity of Jupiter. Try it, really. It only takes a minute or two, and you'll like it. (I know I did.)
